General Combined Course

To prepare for Indian government jobs, you need a comprehensive approach that covers various subjects and topics. Here's a general combined course outline that can help you in your preparation:

  • General Awareness: This section tests your knowledge of current affairs, history, geography, Indian polity, economics, and science. Stay updated with newspapers, magazines, and online news portals. Focus on national and international events, government schemes, important dates, and basic concepts of various subjects.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: This section assesses your mathematical and analytical skills. Topics to cover include arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, percentages, ratios, and proportions. Practice solving problems using shortcuts and formulas. Focus on time and distance, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, data interpretation, and number series.
  • English Language: This section evaluates your proficiency in English. Improve your vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Practice grammar rules, sentence correction, para jumbles, synonyms, antonyms, and comprehension passages. Read English newspapers, magazines, and novels to enhance your language skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: This section tests your logical and analytical reasoning skills. Topics to cover include verbal and non-verbal reasoning, coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogisms, puzzles, seating arrangement, direction sense, and analogy. Practice solving different types of reasoning questions to improve your problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer Knowledge: This section assesses your basic computer knowledge. Study topics like computer hardware, software, networking, internet, MS Office, computer security, and abbreviations. Familiarize yourself with the basics of programming languages, databases, and computer terminology.
  • General Science: This section tests your understanding of scientific principles and concepts. Focus on physics, chemistry, and biology topics from the school level. Emphasize fundamental concepts, discoveries, scientific laws, and their applications in daily life.

For example, if you are aiming for a banking job, focus on banking awareness and financial concepts.
